Help/FAQ for the Business Plan Builder
Question: I got to a page in the program that has a video, but the video window and controls have big Xs through them and nothing works.
Answer: It is likely that you don't have RealPlayer installed on your system. You need to download RealPlayer and install it. If you already have RealPlayer installed, then it likely isn't working properly. Uninstall it, download it again, and reinstall. If your web browser is open, close it and reopen it for the RealPlayer plugin to activate.
Question: The quality of the videos isn't very good.
Answer: The quality of the RealVideo stream that you receive is a direct consequence of both the speed of your Internet connection and the Internet traffic at any given time. Consequently, users with high-speed connections will generally experience better video quality than modem users. However, due to high traffic, there might also be bottlenecks on the Internet that reduce your effective connection speed and, therefore, reduce the quality of the videos. Additionally, if your computer is located on a corporate LAN or WAN, there may be a bottleneck in your network that is reducing your effective connection speed.
Question: When I am viewing a video, there seems to be a delay of a few seconds after I click a button before the action of that button takes effect. Is this normal?
Answer: This is normal on many older or slower computer systems and also on newer computer systems with high speed net connections. Decoding streaming video requires a lot of processing power. The processors of many older or slower systems are very busy decoding the streaming video, so often it takes them a second or two to react to other events like a button press. If you have a high speed net connection, you will usually receive a high bandwidth video stream that contains a very large amount of video data to decode. This amount of decoding will use most of the processing power of a very fast CPU, so a delayed reaction to a button press is normal.
Question: How come I can't hear any of the program's audio when I'm listening to background audio from my computer's CD-ROM, Radio Card, or TV Tuner.
Answer: Unfortunately, Windows doesn't handle the concurrent use of certain audio devices very well. There are countless possible combinations of audio devices on a PC and we'd likely bore you if we listed them all. So the best thing for you to do is to exit all audio programs before you start your program session. Audio programs include utilities, such as Windows Media Player, ATI Digital VCR, QuickTime, and any other programs with an audio component, such as an MP3 player, video capture/editing, audio recording/editing, presentation, video conferencing, and games.
